Science Day #1

Our summer is REALLY here! It is officially "walk out your front and let the humidity swallow you up" east texas weather. So, we have been busy making memories and discovering new things today.

We began our first "Science day" today and it was super! During the school year I tend to push a lot of the fun, exciting, messy science stuff aside due to time, and fill the summers with CRAZY fun experiments.  :).  We now live on a street with 12+ kiddos and "Science day" is open to our friends, which makes it even more FUN! 

Science Experiment #1

Old fashioned Diet Coke and Mentos Rocket

Materials:

2 a Liter Diet Coke(I used off brand)

6 Mentos

Safety goggles

Fast running feet to miss the spraying soda. :-p

Science Experiment #2

Make Bouncy Balls

Materials:

Borax

Corn starch(not pictured)

Warm water

Glue

Glitter, food coloring(optional)

The balls turned out really neat! Bouncy and all! It is crazy the reaction you get when corn starch is involved!

Of course we threw in some ice cream with our sweet " Grama Sides".

We closed the day by painting a mural on an old sheet and some beach ball games.
